Late November 2008, we received the results back from the Natural Church Development Survey, that many of you completed. This has helped us understand some of the growth areas that need attention. In particular, it has revealed a need for greater connection with each other and a need to reach out into the community. As a result, we have decided to go ahead with the 40 Days of Community Spiritual campaign, that would be similar in scope as the 40 Days of Purpose that we participated in 2004. We anticipate starting in mid-February, which will include church-wide involvement from Sunday School and Youth program, to Sunday morning services and mid-week Care groups. We will be challenged to make a deeper commitment to one another in fellowship and unity, and to reach out into the community around our church. |
In order to prepare for 40 Days of Community Spiritual Campaign, we are recommending that we return to only one Sunday morning Service. Our two services have been beneficial to those who are on shift work, and to those who prefer a smaller group. We do not wish to make it more difficult for people to attend, but we do believe that meeting together in one service will enhance the message of unity and togetherness. We welcome your feedback on this issue. If there is strong affirmation for this direction, we hope to begin having one service starting Dec 28, 2008. |
